FALANGHINA 'FRA' CANTINA GIARDINO 2021 DESCRIPTION

Cantina Giardino's Falanghina 'Fra' is the new and surprising creature from the legendary winery in Ariano Irpino, capable of redefining the usual judgment parameters. We do not exaggerate in saying that we are faced with an expressive unicum and, although with the liquids bottled by Antonio di Gruttola, this happens often enough, we feel bound to say that a Falanghina so enthralling and vital has never before been produced. A true cult for artisanal wine lovers, Cantina Giardino, was founded in 2003 by a group of friends who have always shared passion, intentions and views and decided to take over a few vineyards in Ariano Irpino, where Aglianico, Greco, Fiano and Falanghina are the masters. Intimate and uncompromising wines, capable like few others of emotionally involving those who approach them, leaving an indelible mark in the memory.

Fra' Falanghina is obtained from pure grapes of the vine of the same name, from vineyards cultivated with rather basic yields and located at an altitude of approximately 400 metres. In the vineyard, human intervention is almost totally limited, leaving nature to express itself and accompanying all processes ''only'' with vigilant care. We proceed consistently in the cellar, with spontaneous alcoholic fermentation and maceration on the skins for 5 days. The liquid matures for 10 months in chestnut barrels and 2 months in the bottle.

The Falanghina 'Fra' wine presents itself in the glass with an intense, bright yellow colour. A nose of enormous expressiveness, impactful in its sensations that recall citrus peel, aromatic herbs, verbena, and an almost spicy pungency typical of the winery's wines. As always, the palate is driven by a refreshing freshness and a saline edge while not renouncing flesh and fruit. Authentic juice of terroir.

Colour

Scent

Aromatic herbs, Mediterranean scrub, verbena, citrus fruits, salty puffs

Taste

Very fresh and salty, juicy and rich in pulp, persistent

Temperature
12°-14°C
When to open
To enjoy an artisanal wine at its best, we recommend you to let it 'breathe' at least 15-30 minutes before serving
When to drink
Wine good to drink now, but that can have a beautiful evolution after resting for a while in your cellar
Glass
Medium open goblet
Perfect for young and medium bodied orange wines which require a minimum oxygenation to open. The opening, slightly tighter than the body of the glass, favors the concentration of aromas towards the nose, enhancing the perception of aromas and limiting the dispersion
Longevity
You can easily cellar it for 3-4 years
