'FALÒ D'OTTOBRE' I CARPINI 2019 DESCRIPTION

The I Carpini 'October Bonfire' represents a rich and spontaneous label resulting from a truly artisanal production philosophy. The I Carpini winery is located in Pozzol Groppo, in the Colli Tortonesi, an area that, by virtue of the richness in minerals of the soils and the cool climate characterized by high daily temperature ranges, shows a marked propensity for quality viticulture, both in terms of the cultivation of white and black grape varieties. 'October Bonfire' is a red wine produced in very limited quantities, enough "barely to fill only one barrel," as stated by the producer himself.

I Carpini 'October Bonfire' comes from black grapes grown on clay-limestone soils 370-380 meters above sea level. Management of the vineyards, facing east and northeast, follows the organic regime. The carefully selected hand-picked bunches are vinified in red with spontaneous alcoholic fermentation and 20 days of maceration on the skins. Ageing occurs first in steel tanks on the fine lees for 12 months, followed by a full two years in French oak barrels and an additional 24 months in bottles before release.

In the glass, the Piedmont label 'October Bonfire' from I Carpini winery expresses a deep ruby red hue. Rich and fragrant, the aromatic array is defined by notes of red fruits that meet woody and spicy hints. The tasting is deep, full and soft, with a fine tannic texture that is accompanied by lasting fruity and mineral perceptions. A structured and gastronomic bottle capable of enhancing tasty red meat and game dishes.
