The Fiano "Tu Tu" by Cantina Giardino is a white wine from Irpinia with a sip rich in tension and flavor, the result of a 2-day maceration and aging in cherry wood barrels and stoneware amphorae. Opaque golden color with orange hues, it reveals notes of citrus, white flowers, spices and savory memories. The sip is vibrant, rich and marine, with an overwhelming acidity
Cantina Giardino's Fiano 'Tu-Tu' is a white wine with a bold and engaging personality, which captivates by virtue of its vitality and freedom of expression. Although the winery based in Ariano Irpino needs no further introduction, we cannot refrain from dwelling on what is a veritable institution in the world of artisanal wine. The project was born out of a communion of intentions shared by a group of friends who, in 2003, decided to take over a few hectares of great value in Irpinia, where the vines are up to 100 years old and are cultivated without any chemical or synthetic substances. Aglianico, Fiano, Greco, Falanghina and Coda di Volpe manage to achieve powerful, deep and original expressiveness, so much so that they represent true heart wines for enthusiasts but also formative turning points for neophytes. In any case, an experience.
The 'Tu-Tu' white wine is made from pure Fiano grapes from vineyards cultivated near Ariano Irpino. In the vineyard and the cellar, a few simple rules are respected so that it is the grapes, the soil and the vintage that speak; therefore, the use of any chemical or synthetic substance capable of inhibiting the vitality of the soil and fruit is banned. In the cellar, spontaneous alcoholic fermentation in amphorae and a brief maceration on the skins of 2 days are carried out consistently. The liquid matures for 6 months in cherry barrels and 6 months in stoneware amphorae.
The white wine "Tu-Tu" presents itself in the goblet in a slightly opaque golden yellow guise due to the absence of filtration. Right from its olfactory impact, the liquid reveals its nature, proposing a free and iridescent mode of expression where references to orange peel, honey, coriander and wild herbs follow one another. The sip is, as usual, driven by acidity and a crisp, saline texture while still being tasty and ample and capable of leaving a long legacy. Luminous.
