A fresh and fragrant white wine, a symbol of the Irpinian territory, the Fiano di Avellino di Vadiaperti is characterized by fruity tones of pleasant complexity, with notes of apple and hazelnut, alternating with a lively and very characteristic minerality accompanied by an invigorating freshness
Vadiaperti-Traerte's Fiano di Avellino is a wine from Campania, originating precisely in the Montefredane Hills, which has become famous for its wine production. The winery began its activity more or less in 1980; the name comes from 'erta', which in the local dialect means 'steep and rugged road' and the meaning is that of a place situated between mountain roads: this is the heart of Irpinia, steep and rugged, but with generous and flourishing features. Antonio Troisi and his son Raffaele decided to acquire this reality, joining it to their already established winery Vadiaperti, giving rise to a new original and coherent reality; the valorisation of the territory and its products is the objective that guides the work in the vineyard and in the cellar.
The Vadiaperti-Traerte Fiano di Avellino vineyards are located in Vadiaperti and the vines are between 20 and 30 years old. The soil is completely composed of clay for a final product with character and structure; the altitude is around 400 metres and the exposure is to the south, ideal conditions for fully ripe bunches at harvest time. The climate is predominantly Mediterranean with hot but not sultry summers and mild winters, not prone to sudden frosts. The grapes are harvested manually; soft pressing and alcoholic fermentation in steel with indigenous yeasts take place in the cellar. It matures from 2 to 12 months in the bottle.
The colour of Vadiaperti-Traerte's Fiano di Avellino is a pale straw yellow with brilliant reflections. The aromas are reminiscent of yellow-fleshed fruit such as apple, green pear and pineapple, together with hints of toasted hazelnut and mineral notes on the finish; on the palate it is elegant, fresh and easy with hints of elderberry on the finish for a curious and inviting drink. In pairing it is recommended with steamed fish, shellfish and mollusc dishes; also interesting with smoked fish tartare and seasonal vegetable dishes. Excellent to accompany Sunday lunches with the family or romantic evenings by the sea, enjoying the authentic flavours of Irpinia.
