The Friulano "AT" is a white wine from the Colli Orientali, fermented with indigenous yeasts and refined exclusively in steel. It shows a very varietal olfactory profile, characterized by the typical mixture of almond with fruity and floral elements. The gustatory path opens on fresh and mineral tones and closes on returns of bitter almond.
Aquila del Torre's Friulano "AT" is the white wine that best represents the history and tradition of Friuli Venezia Giulia. It is, in fact, the old Tocai, the symbolic wine of the region. A label that expresses in the sign of elegance and aromatic intensity the proverbial harmony and natural balance of this historic grape variety.
"AT" Friulano is produced by the Aquila del Torre winery from grapes grown in Povoletto, in the heart of the Colli Orientali del Friuli. The estate is located in a magnificent hilly area with the vineyard plots surrounded by a large, still unspoiled wooded area. The sunny exposures and significant temperature swings between day and night ensure a good aromatic richness of the grapes, which reach ripeness with great balance also thanks to careful agronomic management based on the dictates of biodynamics. In addition to the climate, the quality of the wines is helped by the richness of the subsoil, formed by the famous flysch or "ponca" in Friulian, an Eocene stratification of marl and sandstone of ancient marine origin, rich in minerals. Friulano vines are about 15 years old and only grown at an altitude of 200 to 300 meters above sea level, with exposure varying from southeast to southwest. Plantings are Guyot, with a density of 5,000 vines per hectare and a low yield of about one kilogram of grapes per plant. Harvesting is by hand, with selection of the best bunches in the vineyard. Fermentation takes place spontaneously with indigenous yeasts in steel vats, and the wine matures again in steel, on its own yeasts, for about 9 months.
Aquila del Torre's white Friulano "AT" is the goblet of tradition, the wine that expresses an extraordinary gastronomic vocation, thanks to its extreme ductility at the table. It can accompany first courses, soups, fish menus, but it is unsurpassed with San Daniele ham. It has a straw-yellow color with slight greenish hues. The aromas express notes of wild flowers, citrus, white fruit aromas and mineral hints. The sip is harmonious, rich and intense, with a finish of great flavor balance, closing with a slight almondy sensation.
