FRIZZANTE 'WAI' TENUTA BELVEDERE 2022 DESCRIPTION

Tenuta Belvedere's "Wai" was born within the Oltrepò Pavese, an area that, thanks to Gianluca's skilled craftsmanship, comes alive again through the light effervescence typical of the Ancestral Method chosen to make this label. The colour of the eye recalls that of peach, between pink and yellow, while the nose settles on complex scents that fascinate the most experienced "noses" capable of declining its immense nuances. The drink is gangly, lively and juicy, thanks to a fresh imprint that makes it perfect for any occasion.

Tenuta Belvedere's "Wai" Frizzante comes from the union of Pinot Noir and Riesling Italico, the latter being present in the final blend with 30%. The two varieties grow in full respect of the environment surrounding the vineyards, and synthetic chemicals are banned between the rows, relying only on copper and sulfur when necessary. Fermentation of the must take place in steel thanks to the presence of indigenous yeasts, and refermentation then takes place in the bottle according to the principles governing the production of the Ancestral Method. Final ageing has a duration of 6 months and takes place only in the bottle.

The sparkling wine "Wai", signed by Tenuta Belvedere, presents itself to the eye with a light straw yellow colour, crossed by different shades reminiscent of the colour of the old rose. The nose is interesting, played on layers of different scents in which white-fleshed fruit alternates with floral and spicy sensations, from which yeast and pastry references also emerge. In the mouth, it is light, drinkable, characterized by an effervescence that refreshes the palate with a certain rusticity in the background. It closes with surprising persistence. A straightforward and sincere label that fully embodies Gianluca's production philosophy, in which inspiration and traditions are harmoniously combined.
