Marisa Cuomo winery's "Furore Rosso" is an extreme wine not so much for its organoleptic characteristics but because it comes from an impervious territory, which is the Amalfi Coast, where vineyards are cultivated on tiny terraces of land in between the rocks and the sea.
Marisa Cuomo's "Furore" is a red wine made from Piedirosso and Aglianico grapes, sourced from vineyards located on coastal terraces at altitudes ranging from 200 to 550 meters above sea level with slopes that sometimes exceed 60 percent. The vineyards face south and are trained according to the traditional "atypical ray" method, which protects the clusters from the strong daily solar radiation. The soils are composed of dolomitic-calcareous rocks that give the wine a typical freshness, also given by the microclimate of the area. The winemaking process begins with the arrival of the grapes at the winery, harvested manually from the vineyard. The crushing and destemming is gentle and the must obtained is fermented with subsequent maceration on the skins, pumping over and punching down which lasts about 12 days. The resulting wine is then aged for 6 months in second-passage barriques and bottled.
The red wine "Furore" from the Marisa Cuomo winery shows a bright ruby red color to the eye. The nose has fruity notes of cherry and blackberry and a pleasant background of spicy notes and Mediterranean scrub. The palate is very pleasant and characteristic, medium-bodied, elegant and characterized by a good fresh and mineral texture. The "Furore Rosso," like all the other wines from the Marisa Cuomo winery, is a wine that allows us to savor the authentic taste of an extraordinary territory.
