Gewurztraminer 'Aimé' Girlan 2023

Girlan's Gewürztraminer "Aimé" is an aromatic white wine produced in Alto-Adige. It is a wine that seduces with its floral and spicy aromas and its persuasive fruity softness, reminiscent of exotic fruit and ripe yellow fruit. An intense riot of heady sensations makes this wine one of the most beloved ever. The vine originates from a genetic mutation of Traminer or Savagnin, an ancient Central European variety, but for centuries it has found a true second home in the area of Tramin and Cornaiano, where it expresses itself at levels of absolute excellence.

The wine Gewürztraminer "Aimé" is made from grapes sourced from the areas of Cornaiano, Egna, and Mazzon, the most vocated of those managed by the Girlan Winery, a reality formed by more than 200 members, who cultivate 220 hectares of vineyards located in the best areas of Oltradige and Bassa Atesina. In this area, Gewürztraminer has found a cool, sunny climate and clay soils that have proven perfect for its needs. After manual harvesting is completed, the grapes are brought to the winery, and after a short cold maceration and whole cluster crushing, the free-run must is started for fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats. The wine is aged for about 6 months in steel tanks on the fine lees before bottling.

Girlan's "Aimé" white is an intense and elegant Gewürztraminer from a selection of the best vineyards in the Girlan winery. Great attention in the vineyard to the quality of the grapes and low yields per hectare always guarantee excellent raw material. Thus is born a wine that combines harmonious balance, freshness and dense aromaticity taste. The colour is straw yellow. The bouquet is fascinating, with floral aromas of rose petals, soft spices, touches of cinnamon, and ripe yellow fruit aromas of lychee and passion fruit. The sip is complex and enveloping with a fresh, lingering finish.
