Alois Lageder’s Gewürztraminer is a South Tyrolean white wine with a typically aromatic profile, in which the grape variety fully expresses itself in its aromas, where oriental spices alternate with more fruity hints. The impact in the mouth is decidedly elegant, substantial, with a sip dominated by a well-defined sapid vein. A label that is always drunk with great pleasure, whose drinking is never tiring but always punctually enveloping.
The Gewürztraminer Alois Lageder originates from two different areas of South Tyrol. The first includes the vineyards located near Termeno, where the bunches give substance and breadth of aromas to the final product; the second is located higher up in the Valle d'Isarco, and brings fresh and elegant grapes to harvest, which contribute to increasing the aromatic capacity of this Gewürztraminer. Obviously the harvest, strictly manual, is done at different times, with a variable interval depending on the vintage. The must ferments at a controlled temperature in steel containers, where the wine then remains to age for about 4 months. At the end of this quick step the wine is ready to be bottled and placed on the market.
The wine Gewürztraminer by Alois Lageder is announced with a clear and limpid straw yellow color. The nose has a purely aromatic profile, with a good intensity; the ripe yellow berry fruit is enriched with some more spicy hints, which emerges especially on the finish of the olfactory analysis. The taste is medium-bodied, with a savory and dry taste and with a nice palatal persistence. A strongly territorial label, to be tried in combination with tasty appetizers - such as salami and sausages in general - as well as with grilled fish and crustaceans.
