Gewurztraminer by Kellerei Kaltern is a white wine characterized by freshness and pleasant aroma, produced with cryomaceration and vinified exclusively in steel vats. From the good profile of exotic fruit and fresh flowers, it presents itself full and creamy on the palate, leaving a long lasting persistence
The Gewürztraminer white wine is a product characterized by a strong varietal impact, in which the starting grape variety used manages to present itself with absolute authenticity. Indeed, on the nose, the aromas are typical of the variety, and on the palate, the entry is decisive, highlighting a good body, warmth, and a decidedly dense texture. It's a label that showcases all the know-how of the Cantina di Caldaro Kaltern, an established and renowned production reality at the national level.
Cantina di Caldaro Kaltern produces the Gewürztraminer from vineyards aged 6 to 21 years, located 350-450 meters above sea level, facing south and east. A clayey and calcareous subsoil characterizes the soil here and boasts excellent drainage. The grapes are harvested late; after destemming, the berries undergo cold maceration for 12 hours. This is followed by gentle pressing, and the obtained must undergo static settling, then ferments in steel tanks at a controlled temperature between 18 and 20 degrees Celsius. It then matures on fine lees in steel for 3 months.
This Cantina di Caldaro Kaltern Gewürztraminer presents itself in the glass with a straw-yellow colour, rich and vibrant. The aromas that envelop the nose evoke typically exotic sensations, ranging from lychee to pineapple, with light hints of rose petals. On the palate, it is medium-bodied, full, and round, with a decisive and vibrant sip, ending with an excellent persistence, characterized by a herbal aftertaste. It's an Alto Adige white wine that always hits the mark, perfect for indulging in an exotic evening in the kitchen, where it pairs excellently with Thai cuisine.
