'GIULIA ERMINIA' FIORANO 2021 DESCRIPTION

Giulia Erminia' from the Fiorano winery is a rich, fragrant and well-structured white wine produced in Cossignano, in the province of Ascoli Piceno, in the Marche region. It comes from a selection of the best pure Pecorino grapes, a white grape variety indigenous to the area between the Marche and Abruzzo regions, from vines situated at an altitude of about 300 metres on gentle, beautiful hills overlooking the Adriatic Sea. The vines, which give rise to this fresh and energetic white wine, have an average age of about 15 years and are trained using the simple guyot method on soils characterised by predominantly clayey soils that bring all that concentration and structure that we will then find in the sip. The winery is a small family business, owning just over 8 hectares of vineyards cultivated using artisanal methods and following the dictates of organic farming.

Giulia Erminia' Pecorino is produced from carefully selected grapes harvested by hand around August. The clusters brought to the cellar are destemmed and gently pressed and then undergo alcoholic fermentation at low temperatures with indigenous yeasts in French oak tonneaux for a few weeks. At the end of alcoholic fermentation, the liquid matures in French oak tonneaux for at least 12 months before being bottled and released for sale.

Giulia Erminia' Pecorino di Fiorano shows a brilliant golden-yellow colour to the eye. On the nose are intense aromas of ripe yellow and tropical fruit, including peach, pineapple and mango, floral notes of white flowers and aromatic herbs, including thyme, marjoram and mint, hints of sweet spices, liquorice, aniseed and a rocky mineral finish reminiscent of flint. In the mouth, it is energetic, warm, thick and round, with a decisive acidity that gives freshness to the sip and a broad structure. This from the Fiorano winery is a sharp but never rude white, where the persistence and depth are to die for!
