The Agricola Fiorano winery is a small producer in the Piceno region, which is expertly led by Paolo Beretta and his wife Paola Massi. Established at the end of the millennium, this winery has made integration and respect for the environment its guiding principles. Located in the heart of the Marche region, near the town of San Benedetto del Tronto and in the first hills that overlook the Adriatic Sea with the Sibillini Mountains in the background, the Fiorano winery was established in 1997 among the colours of the meadows, the dense green of the woods, the fertile fields of grain and the beauty of the silver olive trees. It is actually a family business, which started with the parents Antonio Massi and Adriana Stracci, who were already growing grapes and selling their wine loose to friends and relatives. Their introduction to the markets was thanks to Paolo and Paola, who decided to leave their professions as dental technicians and researchers in Milan to pursue this project and dive into a new world, full of fields, land and vineyards. The young couple immediately focused on an artisanal approach, strictly following the principles of certified organic agriculture.
The Fiorano winery is also an example of eco-sustainability as it houses photovoltaic panels, cisterns for collecting rainwater and insulated buildings that reduce energy waste. In the vineyard, a very respectful philosophy is also adopted that aims to safeguard the environment and natural processes. All forms of synthetic chemicals that may affect the natural expressiveness of the plants are banned. The indigenous grapes cultivated, which are mainly Pecorino, Sangiovese and Montepulciano, grow healthily and respectfully in this way and, once harvested by hand, are vinified within an hour. In the cellar, fermentation of the musts is spontaneous and catalysed by indigenous yeasts naturally present on the skins. The absence of invasive processes, such as clarification, filtration and the addition of sulphur dioxide allows the wines to be very expressive, highlighting all the varietal characteristics of the original grapes.
The wines of Agricola Fiorano reflect the most authentic aspects of the Piceno territory. They are designed to be enjoyed in their youth, such as the Pecorino, Sangiovese or Rosso Piceno, or to be savoured after a period of refinement to reveal the evolution and complexity of aromas and structure, such as the Giulia Erminia and Ser Balduzio wines. The artisanal purity of the Marche region!
