GRECO 'ADAM' CANTINA GIARDINO 2021 DESCRIPTION

Cantina Giardino's Greco 'Adam' is a lively, sunny and full, masterful interpretation of a legendary winery in the world of artisanal wine. For almost 20 years, Cantina Giardino has been a fixed name in the hearts of wine lovers for its ability to tell the story of an area viscerally and engagingly. The project was born from the shared passion of a group of friends led by Antonio Di Gruttola, who decided to take over a few hectares of vineyard in Ariano Irpino, acquiring old vines of local indigenous varieties, such as Aglianico, Fiano, Greco, Coda di Volpe and Falanghina, the latter added more recently. The winery's stylistic signature reflects non-invasiveness both in the vineyard and in the cellar, yielding spontaneous, dynamic liquids pervaded by energetic fury. Milestones.

The white 'Adam' is made from pure Greco grapes from vineyards near Ariano Irpino. In the vineyard, the approach is at least non-interventionist and respectful of the vitality of the plants and soil, so no chemical or synthetic substances are used. In the cellar, the same approach is followed, so all alcoholic fermentation takes place spontaneously, and in the case of Adam, there is a 4-day maceration on the skins. Finally, it matures for 12 months in second-passage barrels and undergoes no clarification or filtration before bottling.

The 'Adam' wine presents itself in the glass with a golden yellow dress that is edged with orange reflections. The nose is warm and deep, which after a slight volatile incipit, opens up amidst hints of citrus peel, acacia honey, Mediterranean scrub and wild herbs. The sip is rhythmical and energetic, enlivened by acidity and saline thrust, the latter also functional in dragging the persistence of the liquid, which remains for a long time. Signatory.
