'T'ara rà' Cantina Giardino 2021

The "T'ara rà" is a pure and generous white wine from Irpinia, born from Greco grapes grown in the highest areas of the Cantina Giardino. The 4 days maceration on the skins and the spontaneous fermentation with indigenous yeasts make it an authentic and artisanal wine. Rich, Mediterranean and pleasantly rustic, it diffuses aromas of citrus, touches of sweet spices and smoky memories with traces of hydrocarbons

'T'ARA RÀ' CANTINA GIARDINO 2021 DESCRIPTION

'T'ara rà' is an intense, rich white wine with a frank and genuine profile, produced in Irpinia by Cantina Giardino. A pure Greco made with a short maceration on the skins and with ageing in wood, which contributes to giving structure and complexity to the wine, enriching the fruity and citrus aromas with light spicy and woody notes. A full-bodied wine that, due to its richness and aromatic facet, calls for important pairings with dishes with intense and persistent flavours.

The 'T'ara rà' white wine originates from the Cantina Giardino estate in Ariano Irpino, 7 hectares managed under organic farming methods and cultivated with old vines of varieties indigenous to the area. In particular, the Greco vines are over sixty years old and are planted using the ancient alberello system in the highest part of the estate, at over 600 metres above sea level, on calcareous clay soils with sandstone. The grapes are harvested by hand and undergo spontaneous fermentation with indigenous yeasts and a short maceration on the skins for a few days. The wine then matures on the fine lees in open vats for a year before being bottled without undergoing any filtration.

The "T'ara rà" Cantina Giardino is a macerated white that already veers towards the orange wine type. It is a complex and ample Greco that conquers by the intriguing breadth of its expressive range and by an absolutely unusual depth and persistence of flavour. The colour is an intense yellow, with a slight veiling typical of many unfiltered wines. On the nose, it expresses aromas of peach, apricot, ripe yellow fruit, candied citrus peel, spicy nuances, hints of resins and officinal herbs against a savoury background. On the palate, it seduces with the richness and intensity of the fruit, well balanced by a lively freshness and a finish that returns to decidedly marine notes.
