GRENACHE BLANC 'CODOLS' DOMAINE VINCI 2021 DESCRIPTION

Domaine Vinci's Grenache Blanc "Codols" is produced in the Agly River Valley in Languedoc Roussillon, surrounded by forests, pine forests and rocky hills. The winery is the result of a collaboration between Emmanuelle Vinci and Oliver Varichon: in 2001 they put together their respective skills as biologists and winemakers to produce wines of excellent quality. Their working philosophy is aimed at the preservation of the ecosystem surrounding the vineyards, located a in the villages of Lime, Maury and Rivesaltes, areas where wine is made in an artisanal way.

Domaine Vinci's Grenache Blanc "Codols" vineyards grow in climates affected by the influence of the sea, being a few kilometers far from the east coast of France. They are, moreover, located about 300 meters above sea level; the soil is mainly composed of clay and limestone, for wines with a characterful and elegant structure, and the vines have an average age of about 40 years. The grapes are harvested manually with careful selection of the bunches in the vineyard; in the cellar, spontaneous alcoholic fermentation occurs thanks to the action of indigenous yeasts. It ages a few months in steel before being bottled.

Domaine Vinci's Grenache Blanc "Codols" presents itself in the glass as an intense straw yellow with brilliant reflections. On the nose it releases aromas of ripe yellow flesh fruit, citrus and hints reminiscent of the sea; on the palate it is elegant and flowing with fresh and mineral hints. In pairing it is excellent with fish soup with spice and herb scents, steamed fish and smoked salmon. A wine to be enjoyed in the company of lifelong friends for carefree evenings, sipping a product that releases the full potential of its terroir.
