The Grignolino “Vicini” by Jean Yves Peron is a wine that the Savoyard Jean-Yves produces with Piedmontese grapes at his cellar in Albertville, a sign of love for Italy and a way of creating a wine with a full Alpine identity. A red that starts off delicately, but slowly shows great intensity. Flowers and red fruits are perceived on the nose, intriguing hints of rosehip and sage on the finish. Waiting a few moments, the sip reveals power, warmth and great breadth and persistence
Jean-Yves Péron's Grignolino "Vicini" is a French wine, produced in Savoy, a few kilometers away from the Italian border. Jean-Yves decided to indulge his passion for the world of wine and began a journey around the world that would lead him to learn about different traditions and winemaking methods that he would later implement in his business. In 2017, he officially began the work of winemaking in the winery, marketing the first bottles, also thanks to the help of Paolo Angelino and Giorgio Barbero, two oenologists with great experience.
Jean-Yves Péron's Grignolino "Vicini" grapes are grown on soils mainly composed of clay and limestone for wines with an elegant structure and character. The dictates of biodynamic agriculture are preferred so that both the ecosystem surrounding the vineyards and the stages of development and ripening of the raw material can be fully respected. The vineyards are located on steep slopes that are difficult to reach with machinery and trailing animals, so that the care of the plants is solely carried out manually. In line with the working philosophy, in the cellar the alcoholic fermentation is triggered by the action of indigenous yeasts in wood, where the wine ages for a few months before bottling.
To the eye, Jean-Yves Péron's Grignolino "Vicini" is a pale ruby red with reflections tending toward garnet. The bouquet of aromas hints at red flowers such as rose and fruity hints such as raspberries and rosehip; on the palate it is elegant, intense and broad with present tannins, well integrated into the sip. It goes well with mixed and sliced cold cuts, grilled red and white stewed cuts of meat; also excellent with basic seasonal vegetable dishes.
A drinkable wine suitable for holiday meals to share a product with authentic and genuine flavors.
