Grunspitz by Edgar Brutler's winery is a territorial white wine perfect for those who want to discover the territory of Romania in small steps. This label is made from indigenous local grapes and the sole use of indigenous yeasts, and is matured for a few months in wood and steel. The straw-yellow colour with golden hues accompanies fruity aromas and an elegant, well-balanced sip
In the small Romanian municipality of Beltiug, located in the historical Transylvania region, Edgar Brutler's Grunspitz is born, a refined white wine that makes gracefulness and dynamism its main elements. The style of the winery is described by the producers themselves as "old-school-avantgarde", referring to their ability to combine tradition and innovation. Grünspitz is a white grape variety traditionally grown in the village of Beltiug, where, however, it had almost disappeared. The Brutler family has planted a new vineyard of less than one hectare with a firm focus on this local variety characterised by high levels of organic acids and a low alcohol content. It is one of only two Grünspitz vineyards known worldwide.
Edgar Brutler's Grunspitz is an expression of the pure grape variety carrying the same name, bred on sandy-loam soils in accordance with the regulations of organic farming. After the harvest, the grapes are pressed whole, with the must conveyed into steel tanks where indigenous yeasts carry out alcoholic fermentation without temperature control. Once the fermentation phase is complete, the wine is placed partly in wooden barrels and partly in steel to age for several months. Throughout the entire vinification process, the wine is not subjected to any clarification or filtration and is finally bottled with a minimal addition of sulphites.
Edgar Brutler's Grünspitz has a straw-yellow colour with golden hues. The range of aromas is full and rich, with hints of yellow-fleshed fruit combined with nuances of white flowers and light toasty notes. The palate is elegant, balanced and graceful, endowed with good softness, lively freshness and a long mineral finish.
