Gutturnio Superiore from the Bulli winery is a red wine produced in the Colli Piacentini area that expresses the best characteristics of the area's wines straightforwardly. It is made from a more or less equal blend of Barbera and Bonarda, the two red grape varieties historically present in the Piacenza area. The short ageing in stainless steel allows the wine to preserve its characteristic exuberant varietal vivacity, with fragrant fruit and immediate expressive freshness, which gives a very pleasant, joyful and lively sip. It is a perfect wine to enjoy with typical local dishes.
The Gutturnio Superiore wine is one of the most representative labels of the Bulli winery, an artisanal concern that manages an estate of some ten hectares on the gentle hills of the Piacenza area. The winery is located in Bacedasco and produces wines that are faithful to the territory's customs, with grape varieties that have always been present in the area. Its origins date back to the beginning of the 20th century, and over time, it has been able to conserve those genuine and authentic traits that still allow it to produce great territorial wines, labels linked to ancient peasant know-how combined with modern oenological knowledge. Production privileges the enhancement of the varietal characteristics of the grapes with cellar work that respects the quality of the raw material.
The red Gutturnio Superiore from the Bulli winery is a wine that comes from 50-year-old vines, facing southeast and cultivated on soils characterised by the presence of clay and sand. Fermentation occurs in steel tanks using only indigenous yeasts and a classic red vinification with maceration on the skins. The wine rests for a few months in steel tanks and is bottled without any filtration. In the glass, it is a rather intense ruby-red colour. On the nose, it expresses the aromas of fruits of the forest, floral nuances and delicate spicy sensations. The palate is light and dynamic, with fine tannins and intense fruit. The finish is pleasantly fresh and of good persistence.
