Inti di Corte Sant'Alda is a white wine from Veneto with a golden-orange colour, resulting from an experimental production process full of historical and artistic inspiration. Its name recalls the sun god of the Inca people, who was always represented with the golden colour, a symbol of light and warmth. As the "giver of life", he was revered by the peasants, who entrusted the success of the harvests and the grape harvest to his power.
Corte Sant'Alda's Inti wine is made from Garganega grapes from the Bine Longhe vineyard, located in Val di Mezzane at an altitude of 350 metres. The vines were planted in 1998 and are, therefore, twenty years old; they are rooted in calcareous soils of medium structure, have Guyot training systems and face south. In keeping with the winery's values, the vineyard is managed according to the principles of organic and biodynamic agriculture, aiming to " accompany the vine on its natural path without ever creating tension or stress". In the cellar, vinification takes place in pyramid-shaped, unglazed concrete tanks, where the must ferments spontaneously in contact with the skins for about 40 days and takes on an intense golden colour. After decanting, malolactic fermentation also takes place spontaneously. Afterwards, the wine remains in contact with the fine yeast for several months and reaches maturity.
Inti is the orange wine of the Corte Sant'Alda winery, the result of a highly original experimental production method that refers to the past and ideally draws inspiration from pre-Columbian civilisations and their divine symbols in gold. This connection is suggested by the intense golden colour that characterises the wine and which is due to the long maceration on the skins for 40 days, a number that also seems to recall the 40 days and 40 nights of Moses on Mount Sinai before he came down from the mountain and caught his people worshipping the idol of the golden calf, or the 40-year trek through the desert before they reached the land of Canaan. The suggestions do not end here, and many other interesting ideas could be found; credit to an original, expressive and interesting wine that stimulates the imagination, especially when tasted.
