INZOLIA 'TIVITTI' CANTINE BARBERA 2023 DESCRIPTION

Cantine Barbera's Inzolia 'Tivitti' is a Sicilian white wine with a Mediterranean and slightly aromatic profile, born in the countryside of Menfi in the Agrigento area. It is a harmonious, floral and fruity wine that expresses very well the characteristics of the terroir and the peculiarities of this indigenous grape variety, widespread not only in Sicily but also in the islands of the Tuscan archipelago under the name of Ansonica. Vinified only in stainless steel, it favours the fragrant varietal aspects, emphasising immediate drinkability.

The 'Tivitti' wine produced by Cantine Barbera is a pure Inzolia, which comes from vines cultivated a few steps from the sea along the Menfi coastline. It is here that Marilena Barbera cultivates her 15 hectares of vines, producing a series of labels with a genuine and absolutely artisanal flavour. The vineyards are organically farmed, with local varieties, especially Grillo, Catarratto, Insolia, Zibibibbo, Perricone and Nero d'Avola. Even in work in the cellar, we try to intervene as little as possible to leave the character of the grapes and the vintage always in the foreground. The Inzolia is grown in the 'La Costa' vineyard on calcareous soils. After harvesting, a 24-hour pre-fermentation maceration is carried out, followed by soft pressing. The free run must ferment in steel with indigenous yeasts, and the wine matures in steel for 4 months before bottling.

Cantine Barbera's 'Tivitti' white wine is an intense and fragrant version of Inzolia, which restores to the glass the sensations one breathes among the sunny vineyards by the sea. A concentrate of Sicily in the bottle, confirming the value of this young winery. The colour of the wine is a brilliant light yellow. The nose expresses aromas of white flowers, orange blossom, citrus fruits and white pulp fruit. The sip is fragrant and harmonious, with a soft mouthfeel and a pleasantly refreshing saline finish.

Perfect for young and medium bodied white wines which don't require excessive oxygenation to open. The opening, slightly tighter than the body of the glass, favors the concentration of aromas towards the nose, enhancing the perception of aromas and limiting the dispersion
