LACRYMA CHRISTI BIANCO 'MUNAZEI' CASA SETARO 2023 DESCRIPTION

The Lacryma Christi Bianco 'Munazei' from the Casa Setaro winery is a wine with a delicate flavour, characterised by clear mineral and maritime hints, which are its calling card. A bottle that retains its fragrance, both in the nose and in the mouth, thanks to vinification and ageing carried out only in steel, and that goes well with the seafood cuisine typical of southern Italy. To be tasted in order to discover a Campania vine that is little cultivated within the regional borders.

This 'Munazei' is a Lacryma Christi Bianco that is the result of the Casa Setaro winery team's use of a very rare indigenous white grape variety, the Caprettone. The vines of this variety, aged between 15 and 25 years, grow in the vineyards of the Vesuvius National Park surrounding the Bosco del Monaco locality. We are located at a height above sea level of about 250 metres, in a terroir characterised by a subsoil of volcanic origin, rich in potassium and microelements. The must obtained from pressing the grapes ferments in insulated steel silos for about 20 days. Refinement then continues in steel, in which the wine is left to rest for 6 months.

The Lacryma Christi Bianco 'Munazei' presents itself to the eye with a straw-yellow colour, traversed by light greenish reflections on the rim. The nose is orchestrated around hints of Mediterranean scrub, enhanced by marine touches and mineral nuances. On the palate it is light-bodied, snappy and drinkable thanks to a decidedly refreshing sip, which highlights asavoury imprint in balance with the aromas already perceived on the nose. A label with which the Casa Setaro winery gives voice to a Campania white wine distinguished by an excellent quality-price ratio.
