LAMBRUSCO 'OTELLO NERO DI LAMBRUSCO' CECI DESCRIPTION

The "Otello Nero" is the most famous wine from the Ceci winery, the first Lambrusco to be awarded the highest accolade in the Italian Sommelier Association's guide. It is an innovative semi-sparkling red wine with an important structure and a purplish red colour that turns to black, so popular that it has succeeded in relaunching the image of Emilian style wine throughout the world.

It was born as an homage to the founder and progenitor Otello Ceci, an innkeeper who became famous in the Parma area during the 1930s for his culinary specialities (culatello and salami) and for the typical wine served in traditional bowls. The first production of 'Otello Nero di Lambrusco' dates back to 2003, after years of experimentation in the vineyard and cellar. It is produced from grapes harvested in the Parma hills at the beginning of October, subjected to low-temperature maceration on the skins for about a week, and frothing according to the Charmat or Martinotti method. This commitment was abundantly repaid and now this label is considered the winery's masterpiece, very popular and appreciated in the restaurants and homes of Italians. Since its release, the image of Lambrusco has undergone an interesting and surprising revaluation process and the Ceci family has become a benchmark of excellence and high quality.

The Lambrusco "Otello Nero di Lambrusco" by Cantine Ceci is characterised by its pleasantness, easiness to drink and its slightly sweet and extraordinarily thirst-quenching personality, with fruity and intense notes that lend themselves to accompanying typical Emilian dishes. The nose offers a marvellous bouquet of varietal aromas in which it is easy to recognise berries and pomegranate seeds, together with roses, violets, sweet spices and delicate herbs. In the mouth it gladdens the senses with creamy touch and a good liveliness, offering savoury notes and pleasant sugary nuances. With the pleasantness of its colour, its perlage and with the lively softness of its aromas, 'Otello Nero di Lambrusco' is able to captivate the senses and make all lovers of Emilian wine and lovers of good food fall in love.
