LUBERON 'ALPHONSE' ROUGE DOMAINE DE FONTENILLE 2021 DESCRIPTION

Domaine de Fontenille's Luberon "Alphonse" Rouge is a wine produced by a French winery located in the renowned Rhône Valley, an area of unparalleled scenic beauty and soil suited to the production of exceptional wines, so much so that it has become one of the most productive areas nationwide. The management of this winery began in the seventeenth century, and over the years each generation has been able to treasure the lessons learned, giving them in a contemporary key, working towards the new ideas. Today it is a relaxing oasis that produces wines known all over the world.

Domaine de Fontenille's Luberon "Alphonse" Rouge vineyards grow strong and lush thanks to their southern exposure, which constantly allows the sun's rays to penetrate between the rows, ensuring that the grapes ripen fully. Adding on to the great quality of the products is a soil predominantly composed of clay and limestone for wines with full structure and character. The climate is continental with high, sultry temperatures in summer and cold in winter. Once the harvest is completed, the grapes undergo both alcoholic and malolactic fermentation in cement and wood in the cellar; this is followed by aging in wood and cement for 16 months.

To the eye, Domaine de Fontenille's Luberon "Alphonse" Rouge is ruby red with intense garnet reflections. The aromas are reminiscent of ripe red-fleshed fruit, with light toasted hints and nuances of sweet spices; in the mouth it is rich, full and warm, with the marked presence of tannins that are well integrated into the overall structure. In pairing it is excellent with typical traditional French red meat cuts, stewed white meat and tasty first courses; also interesting with vegetarian dishes. A product to be consumed throughout the meal for family gatherings, to enjoy a wine that has all the genuine flavor of the land where it's produced, thanks to responsible and careful work by those who, every day, work the fruits of the earth.
