Cà Maiol's Lugana Riserva 'Sùere' is a Garda white wine with great evolutionary potential, an excellent expression of a high quality style. The nose offers scents of yellow fruit and candied citrus fruits, as well as delicate hints that betray the passage in wood and an intriguing balsamic finish. The palate reveals itself to be complex and harmonious: the structure is important and is balanced by a lively freshness and pronounced mineral profile. An invigorating sapidity accompanies the sip throughout its length
The Lugana Riserva 'Sùere' represents one of the highest expressions of Turbiana produced by the Lombard winery Cà Maiol, resulting in a white wine of remarkable organoleptic richness. This label was created to highlight the breadth and astonishing longevity that the Lugana wine-growing area can express, in particular through the interpretation of its main grape variety: Trebbiano di Lugana, otherwise known as Turbiana. The very name of the bottle intends to highlight the link with the area, since the term in the Brescian dialect "sùere" identifies the morning breezes, in particular those that rise from Lake Garda as they pass through the rows.
The 'Sùere' Cà Maiol Lugana Riserva is made exclusively from Turbiana grapes from the oldest vines of the various estate vineyards, planted on clay soil. Harvesting is carried out by hand with very low yields and is followed by the traditional white vinification through soft pressing and subsequent alcoholic fermentation of the must in stainless steel tanks and mostly new French oak barriques and tonneaux. The subsequent maturation phase, which lasts over a year, also takes place between steel and oak barrels, and the wine is finally marketed not before at least a further 6 months of bottle ageing.
The Lugana 'Sùere' Riserva from the Cà Maiol winery presents itself in the glass with an intense straw yellow colour with golden hues. The complex aromatic bouquet expresses ample hints of yellow melon, peach, candied citron and lavender that meet balsamic puffs and seductive hints of cinnamon and pearl barley, all completed by woody hints. The taste is ample, full and round, with a good structure, well supported by the marked tanginess and pleasant freshness that accompany the persistent finish.
