MAGLIOCCO 'TOCCOMAGLIOCCO' L'ACINO 2018 DESCRIPTION

Acino's Magliocco "Toccomagliocco" is a deep and territorial red, summed up in the liquid form of sunshine and warmth. The redemption of Calabria viticulture starts from the faces of enlightened and sensitive people who have decided to enhance viticulture previously usurped by productions devoted to quantity and poor quality, relaunching it with simple gestures and clear ideas. Dino Briglio Nigro is undoubtedly one of the region's bastions, and his winery, L'Acino, has become a point of reference for all artisanal wine enthusiasts because of straightforward yet complex and expressive interpretations. The Cosentino grape varieties, i.e. Magliocco, Mantonico, Guarnaccia, Guarnaccino and Greco Bianco, reach their expressive apex in Dino's hands without filtering or manipulation of any kind. Try it to believe.

"Toccomagliocco" wine is made from pure Magliocco grapes grown in San Marco Argentano in the province of Cosenza. In the vineyard, the dictates of organic farming are followed, banning the use of any chemicals, pesticides and herbicides, and in the cellar, spontaneous alcoholic fermentation and no filtration or clarification of the liquid are consistently carried out. Aged for 10 months in second or third passage tonneaux.

"Toccomagliocco" pours into the goblet with an intense and impenetrable ruby robe. From the first olfaction, it tells of its area of origin in a clear and decisive way with hints of spontaneous scrub, ripe plum, carob and dark spices. The sip is full and turgid by virtue of a perfect marriage of flesh and tannin, firm but never rough. A satisfying and filling red, which by virtue of its structure, finds the perfect pairing with flavorful first and second-course meat dishes.
