"Grame" a Malvasia Istriana from Ferlat winery is a label with a sunny and sumptuous personality. The must and skins are macerated for 15 days and fermented thanks to indigenous yeasts in cement tanks. The wine still in fermentation is decanted in tonneuaux, where it will undergo malolactic fermentation and will remain for 11 months. The complex nose is filled with aromas of ripe fruit and citrus followed by spicy hints of white pepper, nutmeg and juniper
The Cormons Ferlat winery presents Malvasia 'Grame', a macerated white wine of great complexity, characterised by its fine spiciness and vibrant flavour. It is a pure expression of Malvasia Istriana vinified through prolonged maceration on the skin. The origin of vine is to be found in Greece, from where it was brought to Italy by the Venetians around the 14th century, spreading to the areas of Istria, Collio, Karst and Isonzo. The name 'Malvasia' derives from an ancient port in the Peloponnese called 'Monemvasia', one of the trading hubs of the Venetian Republic.
Ferlat's Malvasia 'Grame' is a 100% organically grown and certified Malvasia Istriana. Following the harvest, the bunches of grapes are transferred to the cellar where they undergo destemming and crushing, with the must thus obtained transferred to concrete tanks where it undergoes alcoholic fermentation thanks only to the intervention of indigenous yeasts. The contact of the must with the skins continues for a good 15 days, after which the wine is drawn off and gently pressed. The wine, still in fermentation, is then transferred to used barriques and tonneaux, where the fermentation process finishes with complete malolactic fermentation, remaining to mature for 11 months on the fine lees.
The orange wine Ferlat 'Grame' Malvasia displays a sunny, deep straw yellow colour in the glass. The olfactory range is intense and broad, opening on ripe and citrus fruit aromas, followed by spicy hints reminiscent of juniper, white pepper and nutmeg. Taste rich and persistent, soft and fresh simultaneously, tempered by a decisive savoury trail and delicate tannic perception.
