SAUVIGNON 'MAMARÌ' CANTINE FINA 2023 DESCRIPTION

The Sauvignon "Mamarì" from Cantine Fina is a Sicilian interpretation of this great French grape, which produces some of the world's most refined and elegant whites in the Loire Valley. Culturing at high altitudes helps preserve freshness and ensures a slow and intense maturation of the aromatic profile of the grapes, thanks to significant temperature variations between day and night. It is a young and immediate version of Sauvignon, vinified only in steel to highlight the typical varietal scents and aromas. It is a perfect white for seafood appetizers, fish tartare or carpaccio, sushi, and sashimi.

The Sauvignon "Mamarì" from the Sicilian winery Fina is a white wine produced in the highest area of the estate, where the vineyards reach about 600 meters above sea level. The French grape has spread in Sicily, especially in the mid-nineties. Unlike the more versatile Chardonnay, few areas have proven suitable for hosting Sauvignon with good quality results. The Fina estate manages about fifty hectares in Contrada Bausa, north of Marsala. The vines are cultivated following the principles of organic farming, using only sulfur and copper to ensure a natural environment that is intact and rich in biodiversity. Since its inception, the winery has always aimed to produce quality wines, enhancing native varieties and historically adapted international grape varieties. In the cellar, winemaking practices are very respectful of the grapes' character, aiming to produce wines with an authentic taste and a typically territorial character.

The "Mamarì" from Cantine Fina is produced with fermentation in steel tanks, followed by maturation in steel tanks and refinement in the bottle for another 6 months. In the glass, it appears as a clear straw yellow colour. On the nose, it is characterized by floral scents, aromatic herbs, tomato leaf, vegetal nuances, and fruity aromas. The taste is aromatic, rich, and intense, with a juicy mid-palate featuring hints of ripe fruit and tropical fruit. The finish closes with a pleasantly fresh and sapid sensation.
