MEZCAL ARTESANAL JOVEN ESPADIN HERENCIA DE SANCHEZ REY CAMPERO DESCRIPTION

The Mezcal Artesanal Joven Espadin 'La Herencia de Sanchez' from the Mexican Rey Campero – Distilleria Sanchez is a distilled spirit made from Espadin agave, rich in pleasant smoky sensations, produced in the state of Oaxaca, located in the southern part of the country. Unlike tequila, which is made using blue agave, Mezcal is made with other varieties of agave, such as Espadin. This type of agave is the most commonly used in Oaxaca, and once matured, the plant measures 1.5 meters in width and one meter in height. The name of this distillate comes from the Nahuatl language word "mexcalli", which is formed by the terms "metl", meaning "agave", and "ixcalli", meaning "cooked".

Rey Campero – Distilleria Sanchez Mezcal Artesanal Joven Espadin 'La Herencia de Sanchez' is made from only Espadin agave grown in the state of Oaxaca. When the plant is mature, it is cut and the heart of the agave, locally called "piña", is cooked in a conical oven dug into the ground. After the cooking phase, the pulp is ground using a stone mill, and the juice obtained undergoes spontaneous alcoholic fermentation. The fermented juice is then double distilled in copper stills. Being a joven mezcal, there is no aging phase for the distillate.

Upon visual examination, Rey Campero – Distilleria Sanchez Mezcal Artesanal Joven Espadin 'La Herencia de Sanchez' appears crystal clear. On the nose, vivid scents of white pepper and smoked apricot emerge, combined with pleasant herbaceous and tropical fruit perceptions. The taste is intense and smooth, characterized by a persistent aromatic vein and a slightly vegetal finish.
