Don Luigi Di Majo Norante is a red wine that carries well the name of the winery that produces it. In fact, Molise is identified in the wine scene precisely thanks to this winery, whose roots have been in the Campomarino terroir since the 1800s, which is characterized by a strongly traditional approach at every stage of the wine production, from vineyard to cellar. Don Luigi thus presents itself in a classic guise, with a dark ink color and a structure that envelops the walls of the glass like a velvet mantle, where Montepulciano and Aglianico emerge with all their potential.
Don Luigi Di Majo Norante wine comes from a careful selection of Aglianico and Montepulciano vines grown in the Martarosa area, on mainly calcareous soils located about 100 meters above sea level. After harvesting, the grapes are pressed, and the must remains in contact with the marc for a long time; then comes aging, carried out first for 12 months in barrique, and then, after bottling, for 6 months in glass.
The Don Luigi red wine from the Di Majo Norante winery manifests itself in the glass with a very intense and deep ruby red color, not very transparent. The aromas that make their way through the nose move from a rainbow of ripe fruit notes to more spicy sensations, where, at times, light nuances balsamic nuances also emerge. On the palate, it is striking for its powerful structure, characterized by full and voluminous tannins, which contribute to a lingering finish; the sip is marked by a light savory and fresh vein, which makes for a pleasant drinking experience. A round and harmonious label, to be tasted in order to get to know one of the most important cellars in southern Italy.
