"Montevertine" is the finesse and personality of Chianti Sangiovese, expressed in one of its best forms. Its success is due, in fact, to its extraordinary deeds of complexity and refinement, which have been able to pay tribute to a winery, Montevertine, and to a land, that of Chianti Classico. More precisely, the winery is located in Radda in Chianti, set among magical hills painted by vineyards. The sunshine of the Tuscan land translates into a glass of this red wine that, of its land, also brings back that magical charm that makes it a unicum not only in Italy but also throughout the rest of the world.
Rosso "Montevertine" is made from a blend of grapes that follows one of the blends traditionally made for Chianti Classico, namely 90% Sangiovese, 5% Canaiolo and 5% Colorino. The grapes come from a vineyard area of 2.5 hectares, defined by rows with southeast and south exposure. Harvesting is done manually, and once transported to the winery, the grapes are pressed and transformed into a must. This ferments in cement tanks for about 20 days and then proceeds to maturation for about 24 months in Slavonian oak barrels.
The "Montevertine" wine shows a bright and lively ruby red colour. On the nose, the bouquet is expressed on fruity tones of raspberry, cherry and currant, followed by spicy notes of juniper, liquorice and a vegetal trace reminiscent of moss and fern. The sip confirms the complex texture, which is evident in composed tannin and a full and enveloping body. It is a fresh, balanced wine with great taste. Hard to pass up such a gem.
