Alois Lageder's Moscato Giallo "Vogelmaier" is a fresh and fragrant white wine that offers an intense and persuasive bouquet, typical of this particular aromatic grape variety, which belongs to the large Moscato family. Present mainly in the Triveneto area, Moscato Giallo is distinguished by pleasant and enveloping aromas, floral and fruity aromas, light spiciness and a delicately almondy finish. Alois Lageder's interpretation enhances the varietal aromas of the grape variety, with vinification only in steel, which preserves the fragrance, freshness and aromaticity of the grapes.
The Moscato Giallo wine "Vogelmaier" comes from one of the most famous estates in South Tyrol. It is since the end of the 19th century that the Lageder family has been involved in viticulture in the Magré area. Today they manage about 150 hectares of vineyards located in various parts of South Tyrol so that each variety can be grown in the area with the most suitable soils and microclimate. The goal is to produce wines that are a faithful and authentic expression of the combination of grape variety and terroir, with a rigorous approach and with the goal of the highest quality. The principles of organic and biodynamic agriculture are followed in the countryside to preserve environmental biodiversity and create a harmonious relationship with the natural environment. Maniacal attention to work in the vineyard is followed by careful work in the cellar, where efforts are made to encourage the natural process of transforming musts into wine, intervening as little as possible.
Alois Lageder's "Vogelmaier" is made from Moscato Giallo grapes from the farm of the same name. The vines are cultivated at an altitude between 300 and 400 meters above sea level on light, well-drained soils, mainly composed of moraine and alluvial gravels and sands. After the soft pressing of the grapes, the must ferment in steel tanks. Before bottling, the wine matures 6 months on fine lees in steel tanks. In the glass, it has a light yellow colour with a light, luminous greenish highlights. The aromatic profile is intense with floral aromas, orange blossom, citrus, ripe fruit, delicate nuances of nutmeg and soft spices. The sip is aromatic, with a harmonious, juicy and rich centre of the mouth, preceding a dry, savoury finish of lively freshness. A very pleasant wine, which, with its well-balanced, fresh, mineral and intense taste, accompanies us on a long journey of discovery on the beautiful slopes of the Wine Roads around Margreid.
