NOBILE DI MONTEPULCIANO BINDELLA 2020 DESCRIPTION

Bindella Nobile di Montepulciano takes the form of a red wine of lovely balance and pleasantness, made with the utmost respect for Montepulciano's established winemaking tradition. The story of the Bindella winery began in the 1980s with Rudi Bindella, a Swiss entrepreneur who bought Tenuta Vallocaia with the solid intention of making great wines in Tuscany, a land he had fallen in love with. Today we can say that the goal has been fully achieved, and Bindella's labels are at the top of quality in the Montepulciano area.

Bindella Tenuta Vallocaia's Nobile di Montepulciano is made from a solid base of Sangiovese, to which is added 15 percent of other native grape varieties such as Canaiolo, Colorino and Mammolo. The grapes come from vineyards located in the Vallocaia, Camparone and Casalte subzones, where the soils are mostly sandy, with occasional clay and silt, while the altitudes are between 275 and 400 meters above sea level. Once in the winery, the grapes are mellowed in steel tanks for temperature-controlled alcoholic fermentation, combined with 15 to 20 days of maceration on the skins. The ensuing ageing period takes place in large oak barrels for about 20 months, followed by a further 6 months of bottle ageing before release.

Nobile di Montepulciano Tenuta Vallocaia Bindella is bright ruby red in colour. The nose reveals aromas of black cherry, blackberry, plum, blueberry and violet, supported by balsamic and spicy notes. The taste, elegant and well-balanced, reveals good structure and intensity, as well as excellent fresh-sappy drive and a copious but perfectly integrated tannic texture. Consistent fruity and spicy epilogue.
