Orange 'Vespri' Il Ceo 2022

Il Ceo's Orange 'Vespri' is a fragrant macerated wine. Its taste shows a perfect balance between an overwhelming freshness and a pungent salinity, combined with a very persistent finish. Made from almost century-old vines, it is then macerated on the skins for 24 hours. Meadow herbs, dried fruit, fresh flowers and spices envelop the palate, making 'Vespri' an interesting discovery to pair with seafood dishes

ORANGE 'VESPRI' IL CEO 2022 DESCRIPTION

The Orange 'Vespri' from the artisanal winery Il Ceo is a macerated white wine to be appreciated for its crisp and energetic taste, not at all heavy. Among the varieties enhanced by Davide Andreatta, a winemaker from the Breganze area who owns the Il Ceo winery, a place of honor belongs to Vespaiola, a white grape variety native to the Breganze area. To enhance the characteristics of the grape, which is distinguished among other things by its high acidity, Davide adopts a minimalist oenological approach, based on spontaneous fermentation, exclusion of oenological adjuvants, maceration on the skins even for white grapes, and minimal or no addition of sulfites.

Ceo 'Vespers' Orange is made from the grapes of a single white grape variety grown at an altitude of about 250-300 meters following the dictates of biodynamic agriculture. Specifically, the grapes come from two very old vineyards planted on steep soils of volcanic origin rich in basalt. Harvesting is done entirely by hand, and in the winery the grapes undergo destemming and subsequent alcoholic fermentation with 24 hours of maceration on the skins, in stainless steel tanks and fiberglass containers. The fermentation process is entrusted to indigenous yeasts only, and the final bottling takes place with no or minimal additions of sulfites and excluding the use of clarification operations.

To the eye, the 'Vespri' Orange from the Il Ceo estate expresses an amber yellow color. The nose expresses hints of meadow grasses, dried fruit, citrus and dried flowers, with delicate spicy sensations and fine mineral perceptions acting as a counterpoint. The palate reveals an excellent balance between herbaceous freshness and pronounced salinity, elements that come together in an energetic and soaring finish of long persistence.
