ORENO TENUTA SETTE PONTI 2021 DESCRIPTION

Oreno is a Bordeaux blend of rare class and finesse, the flagship wine of the Sette Ponti estate as well as one of the top exponents in the Supertuscan category. 50 hectares of the vineyard for a winery that is now a true point of reference in Tuscany, also given the numerous awards received, strictly managed in organic farming to make quality wines respecting fruit and territory. Here great tradition and history intersect, also witnessed by the planting of the estate's oldest vineyard, namely that of the Empire, planted in 1935 at the behest of Emanuele Filiberto of Savoy.

Oreno red wine comes from a Bordeaux blend consisting mostly of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, with a small balance of Petit Verdot. The vineyards, placed on clay-limestone soils, range in age from about 15 years to 75 years and are located at an altitude of about 250 meters. Rather low yields highlight the desire to obtain fruit that is qualitatively excellent. After maceration and fermentation lasting about 25 days, the liquid ages for 12 to 18 months in barriques, enriching itself with toasted and spicy notes. After further ageing of about a year in the bottle, the wine is ready to be put on the market.

The Oreno wine immediately shows its chromatic intensity, which is evident with an intense ruby robe edged with violet reflections. Already from the first olfaction, it does not hide its richness made of berries, such as blackberries and blueberries, and mouthwatering touches of vanilla and chocolate. An envelopment that is also found on the palate, which unravels into a soft sip, with sensual and velvety tactility without, however, renouncing a contribution of freshness and savoriness that again entice one to drink. A true champion of the breed, it is enhanced by noble pairings such as a game, braised meats and fine meats.
