Its floral and fragrant white fruit aromas, accompanied by a lively freshness, make it a true emblem of the Colli Piacentini territory.
The white Ortrugo Frizzante is produced by a historic winery in the Colli Piacentini. The Bulli family has been involved in viticulture in these lands since the beginning of the 20th century. The winery is located in Bacedasco, a small village in the province of Piacenza. The estate covers a hilly area of about ten hectares, home to the varieties that have always been present in these lands: Barbera, Bonarda and Ortrugo. The management of the vineyards is very respectful of the environment, and no chemical substances are used for treatments. The winery's philosophy is geared towards producing wines with artisanal faces that can express the terroir in a frank and authentic way. A result achieved thanks to quality grapes and oenological interventions reduced to a minimum.
Bulli's sparkling Ortrugo wine expresses the joyful and carefree face that characterises the wines of the Colli Piacentini. It is a label made from pure Ortrugo, a white grape variety typical of these lands, particularly suitable for sparkling wine-making. The vineyards are cultivated on soils mainly consisting of sand and clay. After soft-pressing the grapes, the classic white vinification is carried out using only indigenous yeasts and then re-fermentation in the bottle sur lie, according to the Ancestral Method. In the glass, it is straw yellow in colour, with a slight veiling due to the presence of yeasts and a light, subtle froth. The aromas are mainly reminiscent of white-fleshed fruit, with floral nuances and hints of yeast and bread crust. It has a delicate, juicy fruitiness on the palate that lengthens towards a fresh finish, closing on savoury notes.
