PALAZZO DELLA TORRE ALLEGRINI 2020 DESCRIPTION

Palazzo Della Torre Allegrini is a red wine that encapsulates in a bottle all the experience of a historic Valpolicella brand and the winemaking tradition of this important Veneto region. This is one of the labels that has made the winery famous on the international markets, thanks to a wine that expresses a soft and persuasive, intense and mature taste that is particularly appreciated abroad. The result is the fruit of very ripe grapes, some of which have been dried, giving concentration, structure, harmony and satisfying fruity sweetness.

Allegrini's Palazzo Della Torre is the fruit of a winery that has been able to enhance Valpolicella with a range of high level labels. It is a well-balanced blend that features the territory's two main grape varieties, Corvina Veronese and Corvinone, supplemented by a minority percentage of Rondinella and Sangiovese. The vines have an average age of 40 years and are cultivated in a hilly area, characterised by the presence of limestone-clayey soil rich in skeleton. Harvesting is carried out by hand in two different phases. First the grapes destined for drying are harvested, and later those to be used for normal red wine vinification with maceration on the skins. In January, the dried grapes are vinified, together with the wine already produced, triggering a second fermentation. The wine thus obtained matures for a period of 15 months in second-passage French oak barriques.

Palazzo Della Torre Allegrini is a classic Valpolicella red, perfectly in line with what one expects from this territory. Warm and satisfying, mature and suave, it is perfect with game dishes, grilled red meats or roast beef. To the eye it has a dark ruby colour with violet reflections. The nose expresses a particularly rich and broad olfactory palette, with notes of ripe cherries, red plums, black cherries in alcohol, dark berry jam, hints of vanilla, soft oriental spices, tobacco and dark chocolate. Structured and enveloping, it has a velvety tannic texture, a fruitiness that gives a sip of ripe sweetness, which stretches out harmoniously and densely towards a persistent, fruity and spicy finish
