SHERRY PEDRO XIMENEZ 'MURILLO CENTENARY' EMILIO LUSTAU - 50CL DESCRIPTION

Sherry Pedro Ximenez's "Murillo Centenary" from Bodega Emilio Lustau is a sweet fortified wine which originates in the territory of Jerez de la Frontera in the sunny heart of Andalusia. It is made from the indigenous white grape Pedro Ximenez, which after vinification, matures for about 15 years in American oak barrels using the traditional Solera Method, acquiring an extraordinary aromatic complexity and infinite flavour persistence. It is a wine that seduces the palate from the first sip with its ample and sensual aromas. It is excellent to enjoy on its own at the end of dinner and pairs very well with dark chocolate or cocoa desserts.

Pedro Ximenez's "Murillo Centenary" is one of the most interesting expressions of this traditional wine from Jerez de la Frontera. It is in this town in the deep south of Andalusia that some of the world's most renowned fortified wines have been produced for centuries. The sunny, breezy climate and the white albariza soils, rich in gypsum that reflects the sun and retains the little water deep within are perfect for viticulture, which has dwelled here for millennia. The Bodega of Emilio Lustau was founded in the late 19th century and is still one of the most important and well-known names in Jerez. The estate's vineyards are located mainly on the white soils of Montegilillo and the sandy soils of Las Cruces. Despite the considerable development of the winery, Lustau has jealously preserved the ancient craftsmanship and customs that have made Andalusian wines famous over the centuries.

Emilio Lustau's "Murillo Centenary" is a prestige version of this famous excellence from Jerez de la Frontera. It is a great dessert wine endowed with an olfactory richness and a multifaceted aromatic spectrum. In the glass, it has a dark amber colour with mahogany hues. The bouquet expresses intense and seductive aromas of dried fruits, figs, dates, candied citrus peel, freshly roasted coffee, dark chocolate and bitter cocoa. The sip is dense, broad and complex, with deep, harmonious and velvety aromas. The finish has endless persistence.
