The Pinot Blanc 'Oberrotweil' from Salwey is an elegant German white, vinified from only the finest grapes from Baden. An interesting fact: the barrels in which this wine matures are made from wood from the forests near the winery. In short, Salwey shows attachment to the land really all along the chain. On the nose, there are hints of apple, white flowers and citrus that set the stage for the distinctly fresh sip. With good body and persistence, this is an excellent pairing with both fish and meat
'Oberrotweil' by Salwey is a Pinot Blanc originating from the Baden region in Germany. This label, vinified exclusively with high-quality grapes using oak barrels from the surrounding forests, highlights the deep connection with the territory. The producer, Salwey, stands out for its dedication to enhancing the terroir and wine tradition of the region. Indeed, this Pinot Blanc is an authentic reflection of the Baden's character and presents a harmonious balance between freshness, complexity, and varietal typicity. Its characteristics make it a wine appreciated both nationally and internationally, confirming the prestige of the winery in the German wine landscape.
The grapes selected for Salwey's Pinot Blanc 'Oberrotweil' mainly come from the renowned vineyards of Käsleberg, characterized by loess soils, very fine eolian sediment, and clay, while a portion comes from the prestigious Grand Cru Henkenberg and Eichberg, of volcanic origin. Vinification takes place in large oak barrels from Oberrotweil, which impart personality, complexity, and structure to the wine. Thanks to traditional production techniques and attention to detail, Salwey manages to preserve the natural characteristics of the grapes and obtain labels that fully express the terroir of Baden.
Salwey's Pinot Blanc 'Oberrotweil' expresses itself with a medium body, fresh and tangy typical of the variety. On the nose, aromas of exotic fruits such as mango and ripe peach emerge, accompanied by a pleasant woody sweetness and a subtle smoky note. On the palate, freshness harmoniously merges with the richness of the fruit, giving the wine a very prolonged aromatic finish. 'Oberrotweil' is ideal for accompanying refined and delicate dishes, such as a good seafood risotto or lemon chicken. Its versatility also makes it suitable to be enjoyed on its own, as an aperitif or during a casual gathering with friends.
