PINOT GRIS SCHIOPETTO 2022 DESCRIPTION

Schiopetto's Pinot Grigio is a white wine whose elegant and graceful aromas represent a truly exciting calling card. The more than positive impression felt on the nose is then confirmed as the tasting continues, involved in a fresh drink where no smear is felt. A label that starts from the hills of Collio to reach the heights of some of the most important wine magazines, not only on a national level, demonstrating the excellent work done by the Schiopetto team.

Schiopetto's signature Pinot Grigio originates from several plots with a marly conformation of Eocene origin. The vineyards have a hilly profile, and between the rows, an approach is followed that aims to reduce the environmental impact of production, experimenting with natural remedies against pathogens and using the green manure technique to stimulate the right amount of nitrogen. After the soft pressing of the berries, the must is cold decanted in the absence of sulfur; fermentation then proceeds in steel tanks for a total of 10-12 days. Final ageing is "doubled," continuing first for 8 months in steel and then, once bottling is complete, for another 5 months directly in a glass before release.

Schiopetto's Pinot Grigio white wine presents itself to the eye with a colour reminiscent of straw hue, endowed with a beautiful luminosity. It is white-fleshed fruit, with hints of apple and pear, that appears first on the nose, encircling it with delicate notes, which on the final olfactory analysis, fade towards nuances of aromatic herbs. In the mouth, it is medium-bodied, linear and clean, with a crisp sip that enhances a beautiful freshness. A label that confirms the vocation of the Collio DOC in the production of white wines that make Friuli famous among all enthusiasts: to be tasted without hesitation!

When to drink
Wine good to drink now, but that can have a beautiful evolution after resting for a while in your cellar

Medium open goblet
Perfect for young and medium bodied white wines which don't require excessive oxygenation to open. The opening, slightly tighter than the body of the glass, favors the concentration of aromas towards the nose, enhancing the perception of aromas and limiting the dispersion
