Tenuta Belvedere's Pinot Noir "To each his own journey" is an elegant red wine, a perfect example of the ancient vocation of the lands of Oltrepò Pavese for the cultivation of the demanding and difficult Burgundy varietal. The beautiful hilly area, cool climate, and clay-limestone marl soils have for centuries proved perfect for obtaining healthy, ripe and aromatically intense grapes. Etichetta was born from this fortunate combination and represented the estate's flagship red, the wine of greatest charm and prestige. The careful work in the vineyard and in the cellar allows for preserving a face of great varietal and territorial typicality. A genuine, straightforward Pinot Noir with an authentic taste.
"To each, his own journey" is a pure Pinot Noir produced in the Montecalvo Versiggia area. Tenuta Belvedere is driven by the passion of Gianluca Cabrini, who decided to make the most of the family's 10 hectares of vineyard. The agronomic approach immediately turned to organic farming, with the understanding that genuine wine comes only from healthy grapes. No synthetic products, use of only sulfur and copper and organic fertilization. All with the utmost respect for nature. In the winery, work is very scrupulous, with very low use of sulfur dioxide, so healthy wines can always be guaranteed. At the end of manual harvesting, with selection in the vineyard of the best bunches, fermentation takes place with only indigenous yeasts in cement tanks and with a maceration on the skins of a dozen days. The wine matures for 12 months, half in 5-hectoliter barrels and the other half in steel. It finishes ageing within 36 months in a bottle.
The Pinot Nero Riserva wine produced by the Oltrepò Pavese winery Tenuta Belvedere is a red wine that comes from a long ageing process and is a decidedly long-lived wine. It is meant to be an example of the territory's potential to produce important wines, even with noble international grapes. In the glass, it presents itself with a garnet red colour. The bouquet is elegant, with aromas of blueberry currants, strawberries, small berries, delicately spicy sensations and balsamic nuances. On the palate, it has a medium structure, complex aromas, a dense but evolved tannic texture, and a fresh and harmonious finish.
