Pinot Noir Kurtatsch 2023

The Pinot Noir by Kurtatsch is an elegant and drinkable expression of the Alpine terroir. The vineyards, with south-westerly exposure in the Lower Atesina region, enjoy a cool microclimate that, together with soils rich in sand and minerals, results in a fine, fragrant wine that is not thin. Notes of cherry, plum and currant are immediately evident on the nose, with persistent, fine spicy nuances. On the palate, it is fresh, elegant and with juicy tannins, with an enveloping and harmonious sip

PINOT NOIR KURTATSCH 2023 DESCRIPTION

Cantina Kurtatsch's signature Pinot Noir is a red wine with a juicy, slender flavour, qualities that are very typical of the grape variety. Cantina Kurtatsch reserves the vineyards of the Bassa Atesina for this variety originating in Burgundy, characterised by a cool microclimate that is ideal for enhancing its attributes. In fact, Pinot Noir, which in German is called Blauburgunder, is particularly sensitive to the characteristics of the terroir where it is cultivated, succeeding in providing variegated expressions, united however by a remarkable dynamism and elegance.

Cantina Kurtatsch Pinot Noir is a pure expression of the Burgundy grape of the same name, cultivated at an altitude between 400 and 650 metres above sea level using sustainable practices. The exposure is south-west while the soil on which the grapes grow is sandy and clayey, brownish-red in colour, characterised by a high concentration of clay minerals and oxides. In the cellar, the grapes first undergo a short cold skin maceration, aimed at enhancing the aromas of the variety, followed by alcoholic fermentation and subsequent malolactic fermentation in stainless steel tanks. Cement containers are used for the maturation phase, which lasts several months.

The Pinot Noir of Cantina Kurtatsch presents itself in the glass with a light, bright ruby red colour. The aromatic range consists of fragrant hints of cherry, plum and berries such as redcurrants, combined with refined nuances of clove and nutmeg. In the mouth, it is fresh and harmonious, with an elegant body and a fine tannic texture accompanying the juicy freshness in a very balanced progression.
