Muratori's Pinot Noir 'Mantorosso' is a red that expresses the potential of still wines in the Brescia area. Maturation in barriques lends character and roundness to this red of great juice. On the nose there are intense red fruits, flowers such as dried roses and sweet notes of liquorice and vanilla on the finish. The palate offers a very savoury, warm but balanced taste, with smooth tannins and a harmonious finish
The Lombardy-based Muratori winery introduces Pinot Noir 'Mantorosso', a label with an elegant and dynamic style that aims to show the high vocation of the Franciacorta territory for the production of still wines as well. In fact, with Pinot Noir 'Mantorosso' and Chardonnay 'Setticlavio', the Muratori winery, which has specialised in the production of Franciacorta sparkling wines for more than 20 years, has set itself the objective of enhancing the expression of these two Burgundy varieties, highlighting the territory's aptitude also for the production of still wines of remarkable quality.
Pinot Noir Muratori 'Mantorosso' is made from pure Pinot Noir grapes from a single vineyard with an average age of 25 years located within the communal territory of Adro, planted on terrain consisting of terraced colluvium. Harvesting is done by hand in small crates with double sorting, both in the vineyard and in the cellar. The grapes are then softly pressed and the mass conveyed into stainless steel tanks for temperature-controlled alcoholic fermentation, accompanied by 12 days of maceration on the skins. The fermentation process ends in French oak barriques, the same containers where the wine matures for a period of 12 months until final bottling.
The Pinot Noir "Mantorosso" from the Muratori winery shows a bright ruby red colour in the glass, tending towards bright garnet. The nose is clear and complex, with distinct aromas of cherries in alcohol, strawberries, dried roses and sweet liquorice, combined with fine spicy notes reminiscent of vanilla. The palate is well balanced and savoury, with very soft, supple tannins that contribute to a harmonious finish with beautiful drive and dynamism.
