PINOT NERO 'MASON' MANINCOR 2021 DESCRIPTION

Pinot Noir "Mason" from the Manincor winery is a perfect version of the French grape variety, which for centuries has found in Alto Adige the ideal climatic conditions to express itself on excellent levels of quality. It is a red that focuses everything on finesse, elegance and the enhancement of the fragrance of small berry aromas. A classic aging in Burgundy style, it achieves a perfect expressive harmony with a particularly balanced profile. Excellent to taste immediately, it has a good aging potential.

The "Mason" Pinot Noir is a typical expression of Alto Adige, made by the Manincor winery to pay homage to one of the world's most famous and beloved international grape varieties. The Pinot Noir vineyards that donate the grapes for this label, come from the Mason vineyard. This is a four-hectare parcel of old vines, located at an altitude of 400-450 meters above sea level, with a sunny south-facing exposure. The soils are predominantly sandy, rich in crushed stone composed of porphyry, granite, gneiss and dolomite. The cool climate, with good temperature ranges, always guarantees excellent ripening. After the harvest is complete, fermentation takes place in wooden vats using only indigenous yeasts and the must undergoes maceration on the skins for a couple of weeks. The wine matures in oak barrels for 16 months, with 20% new wood.

Manincor's Pinot Noir "Mason" wine is one of the region's most important reds. The famous Burgundian grape variety has, in fact, settled particularly well in South Tyrol and gives very interesting wines. To the eye, it is light and bright ruby red in color. The bouquet is elegant and fragrant, with aromas of small red fruits, red currant, raspberry, morello cherry, wild strawberries, delicate spicy hints, sensations of underbrush and medicinal herbs, mineral and floral nuances. The palate is medium-bodied, with complex aromas, a fruit characterized by fine aromatic facets, subtle and well-integrated tannins, leading towards a long, persistent finish marked by good freshness.
