"Trattmann" is a Pinot Noir Reserve from Alto Adige in which elegance and structure go hand in hand, telling of the potential of this varietal within the terroir of Mazzon, a small hamlet above Egna. Here the altitude, combined with a climate that alternates between refreshing breezes and very sunny days, provides ideal conditions for optimal growth of each cluster. The result is a beautifully crafted label, with which Girlan ranks at the top of the main Italian wine guides. A red to try without delay.
This Pinot Noir Riserva "Trattmann" comes from the pure grapes of an international red grape variety that, in Trentino Alto Adige, manages to express itself at consistently interesting levels of quality, Pinot Noir. The grapes of this variety are grown by Girlan on the Trattmann farm, located on the slopes of Mazzon, an area incredibly suited to the production of this grape variety. We are about 400 meters above sea level, in a vineyard facing southwest, characterized by a clayey subsoil that contains silt. The berries, once harvested, ferment in steel for 18-20 days at a controlled temperature, also carrying out malolactic fermentation. Aging continues for 15 months and is carried out in both large and small oak barrels.
The red wine "Trattmann" is a Pinot Noir Reserve that, on visual examination, shows a light ruby red color, also marked by slight nuances tending to garnet in the rim. On the nose, ample and layered aromas are perceived, where the red fruit, well ripe, develops on a texture consisting of different notes. In the mouth, it is medium-bodied, harmonious, with a delicate, subtle and swaddling sip, in which the tannin is perfectly integrated into the overall structure. A Girlan signature label with which Pinot Noir reaches one of the most important qualitative heights in the entire Trentino Alto Adige region.
