PINOT NERO ELEVÉ EN FUT DE CHENE 'SEMEL PATER' ANSELMET 2021 DESCRIPTION

The use of wood during the aging phase of a red wine is, for any self-respecting winemaker, a real challenge. Indeed, it is necessary to search for the exact formula to enhance the grape used, never distorting its main characteristics, but on the contrary always trying to enhance them. A perfect example of this practice is provided to us by "Semel Pater," Pinot Noir Elevé en Fut de Chene with which Giorgio Anselmet makes a product in which tertiary and primary aromas blend to perfection, giving us a balanced and vigorous drink. The ideal bottle to approach the red wines of the Aosta Valley.

The Anselmet winery produces this Valle d'Aosta DOC Elevé en Fut de Chene "Semel Pater" from Pinot Noir grapes growing within soils of morainic origin, characterized by the strong presence of sandy components. The vineyards are located about 800 meters above sea level, and are cared for and treated with great care. The grapes, once they reach the winemaking rooms, ferment in steel for about 10-15 days. Then follows the aging phase, carried out for 15 months in barriques, at the end of which the wine is ready to be bottled.

The Pinot Noir Elevé en Fut de Chene "Semel Pater" by Anselmet reveals itself in the glass with a brilliant hue, reminiscent of the garnet color. The nose is almost caressed by light spicy notes, which decline with different nuances, accompanied by light touches that refer to the world of fruit. In the mouth it is of excellent structure, velvety and harmonious, with a sip marked by a pleasantly fresh sapid vein, carrying subtle tannins. An excellent red wine, perfect to accompany those dishes where meat is the key ingredient in the recipes.
