PINOT NERO GOLAN HEIGHTS WINERY YARDEN 2021 DESCRIPTION

Winery Yarden's Golan Heights Pinot Noir is an original and interesting version of the famous Burgundy red, produced in the land of Israel. The vines are cultivated at high altitude in the Golan Heights, where they can benefit from a cool climate and significant temperature fluctuations between day and night. Thanks to these special conditions, it is possible to grow a difficult and demanding grape variety such as Pinot Noir. As a result, the grapes reach full maturity with very rich and intense flavour profiles. The wine is a version of Pinot Noir with a typically Mediterranean face and rather mature, dense and evolved aromas, a typical expression of the terroir.

Golan Heights, Pinot Noir wine, was born in one of Israel's most famous and highly rated wineries. Yarden Winery was founded in 1983 with the intention of producing great wines in the Golan Heights region. In fact, this Middle Eastern area is one of the oldest areas of vine domestication, and all that has been done is to recover and reconnect with the history of an area of great tradition and potential. The vines are grown in a space between the shores of the Sea of Galilee and the slopes of Mount Hermon at an altitude between 400 and 1200 meters above sea level. The sunny but cool and breezy climate and soils of ancient volcanic origin rich in basalts provide a special habitat to which Pinot Noir has adapted well. As a result, the grapes slowly reach full ripeness and allow the production of a version of Pinot Noir with a strong personality and typicality.

Winery Yarden's Golan Heights red Pinot Noir represents a territorial interpretation of Pinot Noir, made by trying to indulge the best characteristics of the area of origin of this extraordinary red grape variety. At the end of the classic red vinification, the wine ages 15 months in French oak barrels, 70% new. The wine has a brilliant ruby colour. The aromatic profile recalls aromas of cherry, small dark berry fruits, plum, hints of bitter cocoa and spices. The sip is rich and intense, with a broad, ripe centre of the mouth that elegantly lengthens toward a fresh finish with great flavour persistence.
