Pinot Noir 'Chacra 55' Bodega Chacra 2022

Bodega Chacra Chacra's Pinot Noir 'Chacra 55' owes its name to the vines from which it comes, planted in 1955 on the banks of the Rio Negro in Patagonia. A red wine that surprises with a perfect balance between lightness and depth, with a fine, juicy sip supported by well-presented tannins and a pleasant mineral note, which returns to the nose to refresh the persuasive notes of red fruit and dog rose: it will win you over with the first sip!

PINOT NOIR 'CHACRA 55' BODEGA CHACRA 2022 DESCRIPTION

Bodega Chacra Chacra's Pinot Noir 'Chacra 55' stands as a red wine from Argentine Patagonia of extraordinary class and elegance, noble virtues that show the very high level of quality that Pinot Noir can achieve in this distant territory. The label's name refers to the year the vineyards were planted, 1955, and this advanced age of the vines allows for clusters of exceptional quality. The producer Piero Incisa della Rocchetta himself, a surname well known in Bolgheri's parts, says that this is his highest tension wine, while remaining agile and comfortable drinking.

Bodega Chacra Pinot Noir 'Chacra 55' is made with only Pinot Noir grapes from vines planted in 1955 on pebbly soils and raised organically and biodynamically. Freshly harvested grapes are vinified whole cluster in concrete eggs, with spontaneous alcoholic fermentation at a low temperature to enhance the wine's floral aromas. Once the fermentation process is complete, 50 percent of the mass is placed to age in cement while the remaining half is placed in second, third and fourth passage French oak barriques for a total period of 11 months. Throughout the entire process the liquid is not subjected to any clarification or filtration operation, in absolute respect for the noble expression of this terroir.

To the eye, Bodega Chacra Pinot Noir 'Chacra 55' exhibits a brilliant ruby red coat. Refined and varied is the olfactory texture, defined by aromas of strawberry, raspberry, rosehip and violet, adorned by fine smoky mineral hints and seductive nuances of oriental spices and leather. Taste of surprising smoothness, endowed with medium body, juicy freshness and stately tannins. Very pleasant mineral and spicy sensations on the finish.
