Prosecco 'Frizzante... Naturalmente' from Casa Coste Piane is a bottle-fermented Glera with anauthentic ancestral dimension. Glera is a very ancient variety whose success today is inextricably linked to Prosecco, one of the world's best known wines, produced in still, sparkling and above all spumante versions. This wine, formerly made still, was sparkling for the first time during the 19th century using the bottle re-fermentation method, the one on which the Casa Coste Piane winery, a point of reference for the artisanal wine world of Valdobbiadene, has always focused.
Casa Coste Piane 'Frizzante... Naturalmente' Prosecco is made from pure Glera grapes cultivated according to sustainable practices on hillside soils of moraine origin, rich in marl and clay. Many vines are up to 80 years old and, once the right stage of ripeness has been reached, the grapes are harvested by hand. This is followed by white vinification with soft pressing and alcoholic fermentation of only the free-run must using only indigenous yeasts. The fermentation process in vats lasts about 15 days and during the winter the wine undergoes spontaneous filtration and stabilisation. In the spring following the harvest, the wine is then bottled with still some residual sugars, which the yeasts will 'attack', performing the light re-fermentation according to the Ancestral Method.
The colour of Casa Coste Piane Prosecco 'Frizzante... Naturalmente' is an intense straw yellow and slightly cloudy. The nose alternates between typical varietal aromas of pear, white flowers, apple and ripe grapes, surrounded by pleasant nuances of yeast. In the mouth it reveals a very pleasant rustic progression, with beautiful freshness and great minerality, with the savoury trail enhanced by the subtle effervescence.
