Riesling "Berg" is named after the two vineyards Auf dem Berg and Silberberg located in the hills of Dahlenheim in northern Alsace. This white is one of the authentic signature wines of Melanie Pfister, a passionate and charismatic winemaker and daughter of a winegrowing family. Actually, the history of the Domaine has very distant roots that go back to the late 1700s when the winery was officially founded. However, these territories have always been fertile basins for vines, as evidenced by ancient stories from the Middle Ages when this area was one of the most important production hubs. Today Melanie, aware of the long tradition of this land and the many generations before her, cultivates according to the teachings of the past with an eye to the future. The approach in the vineyard has remained the same: the grape and the land are put in the foreground. It is precisely these two elements that speak in the wines of Melanie, who with great sensitivity wants to bottle only "essences" of her own land. With this Riesling we fly to Alsace retracing an ancient history of passion and love.
Riesling "Berg" speaks Alsatian with a German accent, because the grape variety from which it originates is the flagship of the German territory. Its interpretation, however, is clearly Alsatian as it reflects the clay soil of Upper Alsace. The vines are old and give rise to a few clusters but rich in aroma and flavor. Vinification and aging are carried out exclusively in steel, with aging on fine lees for 18 months.
The white wine "Berg" is a Riesling with a straw-yellow color with shimmering golden flashes. The nose profile is composed of ripe apple and pear notes, hints of citrus, wild flowers and a light trail of honey and hydrocarbons. The sip is pulpy and juicy, with great finesse and a precious mineral component. To spend on fish menus or vegetable dishes for a perfect gastronomic marriage.
