Riesling "Neufeld" is prduced from the homonym vineyard of Aimé Stentz winery and it is aged in steel tanks and foudre for 6 months. It is a fresh, elegant and expressive white wine from Alsace, with a floral, citrusy and mineral aromatic profile
Riesling 'Neufeld', produced by Domaine Aimé Stentz, represents the most typical and classic expression of this noble Central European grape variety, the true ambassador of Alsatian wine. In this region in the north of France, on the border with Germany, this white grape has for centuries found the ideal environment to produce whites characterised by an elegant, rich and fresh profile, which captivates with refined floral, fruity and mineral notes. The partial ageing in wood gives the wine good structure, breadth and persistence of flavour. Precisely because of these characteristics, it is excellent served with fish in sauce, white meats or a classic Alsatian choucroute.
The 'Neufeld' Riesling comes from a family-owned estate that has been producing quality wines faithful to the best traditions of the region since the beginning of the 20th century. Domaine Aimé Stentz manages 14 hectares, conducted under an organic farming regime, divided into several parcels, some located in the prestigious Grand Cru of Rosenberg, Steingrübler, Hengst and Sommerberg. The Riesling grapes come from vineyards cultivated in the lieu-dit 'Neufeld' on sandy and clayey soils. After the harvest, the grapes are transported to the cellar and gently pressed. The flower must is then fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. Before bottling, the wine matures for 10 months, partly in steel tanks and partly in large oak barrels, to combine richness and aromatic maturity with clear freshness.
Riesling 'Neufeld' from Domaine Aimé Stentz is a bottle for fans of whites capable of vibrant, expressive energy. It is already very pleasant when young, with a few years of bottle ageing, and it develops the typical mineral aromas of flint and hydrocarbon. Bright and brilliant, it presents itself in the glass with a pale straw-yellow colour. The olfactory profile is refined and finely faceted, with aromas of orange blossom, hawthorn, lime zest, grapefruit, green apple, pear and snuff peach. Taut and vertical, it is characterised by a deep and persistent sip, marked by delicate fruity aromas, crossed by a crisp, savoury trail, accompanying it towards a long finish of lively freshness.
